A. Jerry and Renee Samuelsen
A. Jerry Samuelsen passed away on October 8, 2013 and Renee Reynolds Samuelsen passed away on October 10, 2013 both due to complications of strokes.
As Renee’s health deteriorated in recent years, Jerry’s daily devotion of caring for her was the focus of all his energy until hers was spent and his depleted.
Our natural tendency has always been to think of them as a team. To say “Jerry and Renee” seems almost more natural than to speak of them separately. And so it is as fitting as it is remarkable that as they lived life together, so should they move on together.
Jerry was born March 27, 1923 to David A. and Clarinda Ohman Samuelsen in Wilmar, Minnessota. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked for many years for the Ideal Cement Company and later for Marvin Windows, O’Brien Glass and Gordon’s CopyPrint. He was a strong contributor to the First Baptist Church in Bountiful, Utah and served in the Scouting program for many years.
Renee was born April 24, 1929 to Robert Ingersoll and Elveria McNaughtan Reynolds in Park City, Utah. She worked at Albertson’s in Bountiful, Utah and also for First Security Bank in Salt Lake for many years. They were married January 10, 1949 in the First Baptist Church in Salt Lake City.
They are survived by their daughter, Lynda Samuelsen Holbrook (Gordon L.), daughter, Karen Samuelsen Hunt (Steven), son, Steven Robert Samuelsen (Patty), ten grandchildren and twelve great grand children.
Jerry is further survived by his sisters, Helen Samuelsen Pearce (Dennis), Barbara Samuelsen Peterson, and Sandra Samuelsen Sommers.
Jerry and Renee were preceded in death by their son, Douglas Allen Samuelsen (LuAnn).
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Roger, James, and David Jr. and his sisters, Ann Samuelsen Smith and Jane Samuelsen Johnson.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Floyd Reynolds and Kenneth Reynolds.
The family would like to thank all those at Heart and Home in Centerville, Utah, especially Shanna, for her many years of loving care and kindness. We would also like to thank their wonderful friends and neighbors for all their continued care, support and acts of service.
A graveside service will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. to honor and remember them. A viewing will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
