Ada Baird Halford

Ada Baird Halford, age 91, passed away Thursday evening, June 9, 2016, at her home at Friendship Manor in Salt Lake City, her daughter Juli at her side. Ada was born February 6, 1925, in Carey, Idaho, where she lived all of her childhood with her parents and five siblings. During 1953-1954 she served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northern States Mission. She was married to Woodrow Norman Halford on September 29, 1955, in the Logan LDS temple. They lived in Magna, Manti, and Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper, including working for Freed Chrysler Plymouth until after age 62. Family and friends were very important to Ada, and she was known for her loving concern and generosity to everyone. She appreciated the staff at Friendship Manor and the Silverado Hospice caregivers. Ada was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and by her daughter Gayla in 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Julianne Halford, her son, James Woodrow Halford, and her son-in-law John Nielsen. Funeral services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 255 South 200 East in Salt Lake City on Friday, June 17, at noon. The viewing will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111 Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, Utah.
