Adam Richard Pearce

Adam Richard Pearce, age 24, passed away on February 17, 2022 in Portland, Oregon, after a lifelong battle with mental illness.  He was born January 22, 1998 in Layton, Utah to Jeffrey Lee Pearce and Richelle Snow Pearce.

He was raised in Kaysville, Utah. At the age of six, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He became a youth leader in the American Diabetes Association, spoke at numerous events, and had the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. to speak with leaders of Congress to advocate for further diabetic research and awareness. He and his family also participated in the Tour de Cure cycling event for many years.

Adam was always up for anything that got him moving. He loved hiking, basketball, ROTC, and rugby.  He trained for and completed a mini-triathlon with his brother, and you could always talk him into a game of pickleball. He earned his Eagle Scout and graduated from Davis High School.

Adam served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portland, Oregon. During his service, he fell in love with the city and the people and talked frequently of moving back. He was able to make that dream a reality when he was promoted at his job and asked to help open up a new team in the Portland area.

Adam knew how to work hard and was constantly seeking to improve himself. During the later part of his life, he became an Olympic-style weight lifter and worked tirelessly to improve his personal records. He consistently lifted more than his own body weight in several lifts. The gym was a place of great comfort to Adam. He found many friends through his weightlifting teams and was constantly cheering others on in their own efforts to beat their best.

Adam loved to travel. He kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland, toured the Tower of London, and spent time at 221B Baker Street. He loved food and any opportunity to try something new. This was particularly so with Portland’s unique food trucks and donut shops.

Adam enjoyed gaming with his friends and family and was particularly lethal with Ike and Mr. Game and Watch in the video game Super Smash Brothers. He was always up for one more round and used it as a chance to bond with those he loved.

His comedic timing was genius and innate. When in a group, he would typically hang back in the conversation, until the perfect timing presented itself for a witty joke or anecdote. He could make you laugh at the drop of a hat. He would often send the perfect meme or joke when it was needed most to brighten your day.

To know Adam was to love him. Those who knew Adam best will remember him for being kind, empathetic, and selfless.

Words are not enough to describe the depth of love we feel for him and the unfathomable chasm his passing has left in our lives. We will miss him every day until we meet again.

He was preceded in death by his two Grandfathers, Dewey Roberts Pearce, and Richard Bowman Snow.

He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Richelle; brother, Devin Andrew Pearce (Nicole); sisters, Emily Pearce Robertson (Jacob), and Lydia Pearce; grandmothers, Donna Marie Nielsen Pearce, and Cheril James Snow; four nieces who Adam adored; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Viewing will be held Thursday, February 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Mortuary 1941 N Main St, Farmington, UT.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 25 at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at Russon Mortuary in Farmington.

Overflow seating and broadcast of service available at nearby chapel located at 900 South Main, Kaysville, Utah.

Interment will take place at the Kaysville City Cemetery
