Afton Balch

Afton May Barker Orchard Spano Wells Balch, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2012 of causes incident to age.
Afton was born in Smithfield, Utah on May 15, 1919 to Elias Barker and Effie Harmon. Afton married Max Orchard, September 1936 in Logan, Utah. They lived in Brigham City, Utah before moving to Whittier, California in 1952.
After Max’s death, Afton married Carl Spano (deceased), then married Grant Wells and moved to Joseph, Utah. After his death she married John Balch of Joseph, Utah (deceased). Afton then moved to Bountiful, Utah until her death.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survived by her children: Bruce B. Orchard, Bountiful, Ut., Partricia Ann Smith, Pleasant, CA., and Gerald Max Orchard, Joseph, Ut.; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Smithfield Cemetery.
