Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Afton Richards Heath, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2014. She was born June 1, 1923, to Fredrick Arthur Richards and Sarah Lucinda Tuttle. She graduated from Davis High School at age 16. She was raised and lived most of her life on 400 North in Bountiful, Utah. She married Donald Bird Heath on December 1, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, a brother and one granddaughter. She is survived by her children: Patrice Evans (Steve), William D. Heath (Pam), David R. Heath (Kelly) and Howard S. Heath (Annie), 18 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving all of her life in the MIA and Relief Society organizations. She was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple for 10 years. Her family and the Gospel were her joy. She was a very hard worker and multi-talented. She had a beautiful alto voice and sang in duets, trios and choirs from the time she was a child. She was a dance director for many years in the MIA. She was an avid gardener, painted in oils, watercolors, tole painting and china painting. She did flower arranging, quilting, sewing and anything that was needed to beautify her surroundings.
We want to express our gratitude to the wonderful people at Welcome Home Assisted Living for their loving care and consideration for her and our family, also to all those who cared for her from Tender Care Hospice.
The funeral will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main in Bountiful, where a viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
