Alan Parrish Hamlin
1923~2012
Alan Parrish Hamlin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother entered into the arms of a loving Heavenly Father on December 21, 2012. Alan was born July 6, 1923 in Inglewood, CA, to Joseph Bernard and Corinne Matilda Parrish Hamlin and was a decorated WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Corps in Europe. After the war he returned home and married his eternal love Cecilia Grace Enos on August 11, 1946 in Riverside, CA. They converted to the LDS Church and were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on January 5, 1974. Dad and Mom were ordinance workers for many years in both the St. George and Mesa Temples, and Dad loved his calling as a sealer. They served a mission to the West Virginia Charleston Mission from 1983-1984. Alan was an extraordinary man who never had an enemy because he treated everyone as his friend. He is truly a giant among men, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his family are his treasures still.
Alan is survived by his loving wife Cecilia, grateful children Alan R. Hamlin (Kathy), Cedar City, Gloria Christine Salmon (Robert), Bountiful, his sister Beverly Geisel (Riverside, CA) ten adoring grandchildren Angela, Kim, Kasie, Arynne, Krista, Matt, Kirsten, Julianne, Kelsie, and Scott and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack. The family would like to thank the Harmony Home Health and Hospice angels Shasta and Nancy for their kindness and care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the Centerville Fifth Ward, 270 N. 300 E.
