Albert Dennis (Den) Garrick

Albert Dennis (Den) Garrick, age 76, of West Valley City, Utah passed away on September 4, 2020 from complications due to lung cancer.  Den was born on October 13, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert and Thelda Garrick. He attended West High School, and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

Den loved his children and dedicated his life to them and the outdoors, always mixing the two by taking his kids with him on fishing adventures nearly every weekend.  He was known to everyone as a great fisherman, able to reel in a fish when no one else was getting a nibble. His favorite was the German Brown Trout. He spent a good majority of his adventures mastering every area he could access of the Weber River.

Anyone who knew Den found that he always had one goal in mind: to do whatever it takes to make you laugh. His children would say “this was a man that when he said he loved you, you knew he meant it. Not just by his words, but by his actions”. If Den gave you his word, he kept it.

He was preceded in death by his father.  Survivors include his mother, his sister Debbie (Marty) Montgomery, his sons: Denny Garrick, Matt (Marlee) Garrick, Mike (Leah) Garrick, and Cy (Cindi) Garrick; his grandchildren: Samantha and Tayler (Cy), and Luke (Matt).

As requested by Den, no funeral service was held.
