Alene Stringham

March 24, 1928 — January 5, 2012

Alene Stringham died January 5, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born March 24, 1928 in San Francisco, CA., the only child of Milton Barlow Stringham and Ruby Duke Stringham. She spent her early years in Heber City and Ogden, Utah and Pasco, Washington. Alene loved music and sang in church choirs until she was 80. She also sang in the Ogden Symphonic Choir for 14 years and the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir for 2 years. She was active in Alpha Delta Kappa – a sorority for women educators, serving for 2 years as State President. She was active in DUP – was a lesson leader for many years. Most of Alenes service was in the LDS Church. She served as Sunday School secretary, counselor in MIA, teacher and music leader in Jr. Sunday School. However, her real love was Relief Society. She served as teacher, chorister, secretary and president of the Pheasant Ward Relief Society. She also served in the nursery at the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by many dear cousins and friends, and her almost nieces and nephews, children of John and Elma Fugal. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Centerville Pheasant Ward Chapel, 950 North Main. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Ogden City Cemetery.
