Alex "Leonard" Larson

August 28, 1936 — October 25, 2017

Beloved father, grandfather and husband, Leonard Larson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 25, 2017.  Leonard was born on August 28, 1936, in Provo, Utah to Louis Leonard and Leah Larson.  He spent his early years in Salt Lake City and Inglewood, California.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.  He was stationed in Mississippi, Alaska and Germany.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Education from BYU.

He worked for the Davis County School District as a history teacher and counselor.

He was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed anything involving WW II. Leonard also loved the outdoors and had a passion for skiing, hiking, camping and canoeing.  He also enjoyed his hobbies of lapidary work and photography.

He is a member of the LDS church and has held various positions throughout the years.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Nola, children:  Brian, Myq (Joann), Kerri (Rob), grandchildren:  Hailey, Ian, Kohler and Ty.  Sisters:  Anna Beth Gillman and Leah Gene Rostomily, Sister in law, Marilyn Larson, plus nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Max and Stanley and sister, Kathleen.

The family would like to express its gratitude and love to Sally at Chancellor Gardens for her tender care and support during Leonard’s time there and to her staff. Also, thanks to the wonderful staff from Symbii Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 11:OO a.m. at the Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington. Family and friends may visit Friday between 6 and 8 p.m. and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service Saturday.

Interment follows at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
