Alice Estelle Manning Whipple (93) returned to Heavenly Father and her husband on November 27th, 2018. Alice was born November 4th, 1925, to Alpha Horatio Manning and Mary Muhlfeit Manning in Shelley, Idaho. She attended school in Shelley and graduated from Ogden High School. Alice went to San Francisco and met Albert Jay Whipple. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Alice volunteered at the church office building for 26 years as hostess. Alice enjoyed writing poetry as a member of the Utah Poetry Society. Her lifetime passions were poetry, serving others, and her family. She especially enjoyed her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and serving as music director and conductor in many auxiliaries in the church. Alice's testimony of Jesus Christ permeated her life.
She is survived by her children, Victoria Alice (Gary) Morris, Albert Jay (Linda) Whipple, Alan Kay Whipple, David Carl Whipple, Jeanette (Kim) Eggett, and Gordon Ray (Michelle) Whipple. Survived by 23 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Many thanks to Heritage Place workers and Caregiver Support, Isela and MaryAnne.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7th, 2018, in the Bountiful 24th Ward building, 720 East 550 North Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may visit Thursday evening at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main St., Bountiful, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment – Bountiful City Cemetery.
