Our dear, sweet mom, Alice, peacefully left us to join her eternal sweetheart, Vern, on Saturday, September 8, 2012. She was living with her daughter in West Point, Utah at the time of her passing. Mom was born in Bountiful, Utah on May 8th, 1922. She was the seventh of thirteen children born to Edward Emery Mitchell and Luella Willey. Mom grew up in Bountiful and attended Davis County Schools, graduating from Davis High in 1940. Mom married her sweetheart, Vern, June 19, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent 62 wonderful years together. Dad passed away March 22, 2005. Mom retired from the State of Utah after thirty years of service. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in numerous callings throughout her life. She especially loved serving with dad as Camp Host missionaries at the Cherry Hill Campground and later serving with him as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple. Mom and dad spent most of their married life in Farmington, Utah, moving to St. George in 1996. Mom loved and cherished her family. She looked forward to visits and phone calls from her children and grandchildren each day. She made family gatherings special, especially Christmas. Mom is survived by her four children, Verdeen (Stan) Adams, Shauna (James) Williams, Lou Ann (Bill) Sinclair and Willard (Sandra) Hess. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren and her siblings, Robert W. Mitchell (Norma), Ed Mitchell (Rose) and Doris Nalder and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nine brothers and sisters. Mom appreciated the many acts of kindness and love shown to her by friends and family, especially her dear friend Sharlene, in St. George. A heartfelt thanks to Harmony Home Hospice for their care and support. We express our deepest appreciation and love to our special angels, Shasta, Angela and Lisa. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at noon at Farmington Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main St., Farmington. Friends and family may gather for a viewing Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the mortuary and Saturday morning from 11:00 to 11:45. Interment in the Farmington City Cemetery.
