Alice Lovell Mellor Miller, age 95, passed away August 16, 2017 in Idaho Falls, ID. She was born March 20, 1922 in McCammon, ID. Daughter of Francis Mellor and Anetta Robinson Mellor. She was the 5th child of seven. Mom grew up in McCammon and graduated from McCammon High School. She enjoyed an active social life and played on the basketball team. Upon graduation she moved to Milford, Utah for employment as a phone operator. It was there she met dad. He was working for the Union Pacific Railroad. It was after that first meeting that he told his co-workers he had found the woman he was going to marry. They were married December 5, 1941. Life started in Milford with the birth of Judy, followed by the twins Sherry and Larry. They moved to Salt Lake for a year and then to Farmington. Mom was active in the church, serving in the Young Women’s and Relief Society organizations. During the 1950’s, she was the PTA president at Farmington Elementary School. She loved the Farmington Literary Club and being part of the railroad wives group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, daughter Sherry, her parents and all six siblings. She is survived by Judy Bliss (Gary), Larry Miller (Barbie) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, Utah on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Farmington City Cemetery.
