Allen Harris Banta

June 15, 1936 — October 11, 2018

Allen peacefully passed away October 11th surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82.  Allen loved his family and they are his prize possession.  He was born June 15th 1936 in Cripple Creek Colorado to Jess Allen and Dea Weydant.  He also had a very special love for his uncle Everett Dye whom he lived with for a time as a child.   Allen was proud to serve for over twenty years in the United States Navy where he spent time on the USS Newport News, retiring in 1975.  He also worked for many years in different capacities for Federal Employees Credit Union/America First Credit Union where he met and worked with many great people. 

Allen married the love of his life and eternal companion Kay Elizabeth Galbraith March 14, 1958 in Ogden Utah.  He Joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1970.  He and Kay were sealed with their children in the Ogden Temple June 1972.

Allen was the proud father of four children Terie (Brent) Strong, Jennifer (Wade) George, Kenneth (Lori) Banta, and Michael (Diana) Banta.  He has 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Allen loves his wife his family and a good game of Scrabble.

Services will be held at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, UT, Thursday, October 18th at 1 PM.  Viewing will be held before the service from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM. Interment- West Haven Cemetery.
