Allen Lewis Tinsley, aged 78, passed away peacefuly at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday morning, January 10, 2018, in North Ogden, Utah, due to heart failure. Allen was born on January 12, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Paul Eugene Tinsley and Lyle Sarah Cutler. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Edmund Z. Homer. He married Carolyn Annetta Hansen on November 30, 1964 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Southwestern States Mission. Later in life, he served another mission in Hawaii with his sweetheart, Carolyn. He served in many callings in the church, including Bishop and High Counselor. Allen worked as a computer programmer for the LDS Church. Allen was an avid Univeristy of Utah and Utah Jazz fan. He loved traveling The World and spending quality time with his family.
Allen was preceeded in death by his parents and his son Michael. Allen is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Deron (Nanette) Tinsley, daughter Karen (Em) Tinsley, daughter Kristin (Matt) Pack, daughter-in-law Amanda Tinsley, daughter Diane (Shane) Jensen, 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Grant Homer, sister Mary (Dan) Olson, brother Steve (Suzanne) Homer, brother Neil Homer, sister Helen (Buck) Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the North Ogden 15th Ward Building 770 E. 2100 N., North Ogden, Utah, where a visitation will be held from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery. Special thanks to McKay Dee Hospital and Applegate Hospice.
