Alma Ronald Elliott

October 20, 1935 — December 31, 2015

Alma Ronald Elliott passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the age of 80. It has been many years of ‘a long good-bye’ as he battled the effects of Alzheimer’s. He was born October 20, 1935 to Alma Raymond and Isabell Evans Elliott in Farmington, UT. He graduated from Davis High School and served an LDS mission to the Samoan Islands. He served in many church callings throughout his life, but his favorite was being part of the Sunday School Presidency. We are pretty sure it is because he loved to ring the dismissal bell! He also served his country in the United States Air Force as a fire fighter.

As his memories faded and we had to reintroduce ourselves to him each time we visited, he always had that twinkle in his eye and knew exactly who his eternal companion was each time she entered the room. His life long journey with Ora Lee Todd began on July 8, 1959 in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived most of their married life in Bountiful, UT and Woods Cross, UT. They were blessed with 6 beautiful children. He was welcomed into heaven by his oldest daughter, Ronda Lee Wayman who passed away in 1996. Still loving him on this earth along with his wife, are his children, Lesia Hatch (Robert), Jay Elliott (Stacy), Deann Worthen (Cory), Dawn Worthen (Paul), Chad Elliott (Emily). He leaves a legacy of 19 Grandchildren (Kyle, Curtis, Amanda, Jason, Chalene, Crystal, Michele, Jessica, Courtnie, Kevin, Erin, Becca, Stacey, Emilee, Jenna, Mckinna, Raven, Kaycee and Wyatt Ronald Elliott bringing up the rear) along with 12 Great Grandchildren, with one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Elisabeth Jarvis. Preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings, Juanita Butcher, Valera Hogan, Clifford L. Elliott and son-in-law, Mark E. Harmon.

Dad was the hardest working man we know. Owning his own construction company taught us all the value of hard work and doing what you have to in order to get it done! Later in life he served kids each day as he transported them to school on the big yellow bus for Granite School District. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed camping, fishing and trap shooting with his kids and grandkids. Family meant everything to him and he instilled faith and gospel principles in all of us. He leaves us with his example of faithfulness and enduring to the end. In the words of his youngest son…..he is our HERO!

A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, January 5, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6th at the Somerset LDS Ward building, 1885 Summer Wood Drive, Farmington, UT. Services will begin at 12:00 with a viewing from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

A special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, UT who cared for, and loved him as much as we did the past 2 years. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org
