Amelia Marganis Vasilion

March 6, 1930 — September 22, 2015

Amelia (Emily) Marganis Vasilion passed away on September 22, 2015 following a sudden illness.  She was born on March 6, 1930 in Salt Lake City to Theodore and Angeliki Marganis.  Emily graduated from West High School and worked at Auerbach’s for several years before moving to Los Angeles, CA.  There she met and married James Vasilion and together they lived a full life sailing in their beloved boat ‘Yasoo’.  They were active members of the Marina Del Ray Yacht Club and were able to travel to many places with wonderful friends. Emily was a very successful business woman. She owned and ran a specialty shop in the famous Farmers Market in Los Angeles.

She suffered later in life from Dementia. Special thanks to all the staff at Sunrise on Holladay for their kind and loving care.

Emily is preceded in death by her husband Jim. Survived by her 4 sisters, Helen Janos (Nick), Elsie Chelemes (Sam), Stella Zaharias (Ernie), and Mary Melissas (George), her nieces and nephews, Corinne and Nick Pappas, Angela Giles, Nick Janos, Basil Chelemes, Lydia Day, Alexander and Ted Zaharias, and Irene Melissas Heath.
