Andrew Karl Oski Gulledge, 41, passed away on January 1, 2022, in Provo, Utah. Andrew is survived by his wife (Lesley); 3 daughters (Eleanor; Madeleine; and Sóley); 1 son (Theo); 5 brothers (Karl; John; Alexander; Aaron; and Reuben); 1 sister (Jennifer); and his mother (Mali).
Andrew was born on June 6, 1980, in Newport Beach, California, to his parents Mali Gulledge and John Forrest Gulledge II (deceased). Andrew was raised in Newport Beach where he attended Harbor View Elementary, and Corona del Mar High School. While at Corona del Mar H.S., Andrew played lacrosse, water polo, hockey, and took college level courses at Orange Coast College. Andrew then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and served a 2-year mission in Colorado and Kansas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He would go on to earn a master’s degree from Loma Linda University in Redlands, California.
Andrew was a man of extraordinary talents. He was a skilled musician, vocalist, and songwriter with range extending from church organist and choir member to ukulele instructor; from playing the stand-up bass to handcrafting his own digeridoos. He was an actor, model, scholar, and published author. He was an excellent cook and award-winning brewer. He was a gifted statistician who created credit-risk models for the credit reporting company Experian. He was an adventurer from an early age, having been both scuba-diving and skydiving before he was even 17 years old. And he was an avid gamer…whether it was online using mice, or in-person using dice.
Andrew was also a man of extraordinary charisma. Through his genuine love and kindness, he made you feel like the most important person in the world. Strangers quickly became friends, and his friends became like family. To know him was to love him – and you knew that he sincerely loved you too.
Although Andrew’s untimely death leaves a hole in each of our hearts, we will always cherish and remember him as a loving father; a devoted son; a loyal friend; and our Eternal Brother.
