Anita Belle Hyatt Davis
1925-2012
Bountiful-Anita Belle Hyatt Davis, age 87, was reunited with her sweetheart on July 9, 2012 at her home. Born February 8, 1925 in Grand Haven, Michigan to Clarence Edmund and Belle Alberta Edmonds Hyatt. Married Ralph Howard Davis, September 8, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Anita was a graduate of Joliet Township High School in Joliet, Illinois, received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from BYU and was employed as an accountant at Zions Securities Corp. for several years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, served as a missionary to the Japanese in the Central Pacific Mission in Hawaii after WWII, and served as executive secretary of the Central Pacific Mission Society for over fifty years. She was active in the Utah Association of Women and served as their treasurer for several years. She was also a member of the DAR and served as a chapter regent and state treasurer.
Anitas life was full of love and service to her family, church, and neighbors. She worked and taught in all auxiliaries of the Church including a member of the YWMIA and Relief Society stake boards, ward president of both Primary and Relief Society, ward choir director, editor of the ward paper, scribe to two patriarchs, the last being her husband, and served as ward family history consultant with her husband. Family History was her great love. She tirelessly searched for her ancestors and loved the stories of their lives.
She is survived by two sons, David Hyatt (Charlynn) Davis; Richard Hyatt (Debbie) Davis; two daughters, Jolene (Bill) Hoeveler; LuAnn (Paul) Child; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren with two more coming soon, and two brothers, E. Preston Hyatt (Ora Mae), Norman F. Hyatt. She was preceded in death by parents, brother, Robert Theodore Hyatt; husband, Ralph, and daughter Annette Davis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main, Bountiful. Friends may call the evening prior from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and from 9:45-10:45 am at the church prior to the service. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
