Anita Sonja Ronér Melin passed away February 5, 2019, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born April 26, 1938, in Stockholm, Sweden. Her parents were Gosta Harry Ronér and Sonja Breimer. She was raised by Gosta and May Ronér in Sweden, where she grew up and went to school.
In 1956, she emigrated to the United States with her family. At that time, she got a job working for the Family History Library. In 1966, she returned home to Stockholm, Sweden, where she lived for 40 years. There, she worked for a county travel agency. During this time, she was able to travel through Europe. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and spent years being a sunday school teacher.
She moved back to the United States in 2006 and married Lars Melin in the Salt Lake Temple. She lived with Lars in California until November 15, 2013, when he passed away. She continued
living in California until October 2016, when she returned to live in Salt Lake.
She is survived by her brothers Kent Ronér (Janice), Kenneth Ronér (Reneé), and Greger Ronér (BryAnn). She was preceded in death by her mother, Sonja Breimer, father, Gosta Harry Ronér, step-mother, May Johansson Ronér, and brother, Leif Ronér.
She passed away from Alzheimers. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, California. Her internment will be in Fairhaven next to her husband.
