Sunday morning on September 4, 2022, surrounded by her family, heaven gained an angel, Ann LaRee Powell Gale. She was 85 at her passing. Mom was born on May 20, 1937, the second of three children to Lawrence and Lorena Powell of Beaver, Utah.
Mom grew up on a farm in Beaver, Utah working alongside her father. She was taught to work hard and was raised in a two-room log cabin. She was in the graduating class of 1956 at Beaver High School, where she enjoyed playing the tenor saxophone. She married the love of her life Don J Gale on June 1, 1956, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple June 1, 1993. They made their first home in Blackrock, UT, a siding on the Union Pacific Railroad where Don worked. Twins were born and only lived a short time. They then moved to Milford, Utah. While Don worked in Milford, they were blessed with four children. Later they moved to Bountiful, Utah, where they raised their family. She was a loving full-time mother and homemaker who took care of the family while her husband traveled for work. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions. She loved decorating her house and making her home a beautiful place. Her hobbies included a love of the outdoors, boating, traveling the world, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and square dancing. She loved the Utah Jazz and BYU. She was a lover of animals. She was a hostess and a great entertainer, but most of all she loved her children and ADORED her grandchildren and greats.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Glen and John, twin sons Keith Dee and Kenneth Lee, and two granddaughters Amber Kaye Ogden and Angelie Ann Short. She is survived by her children Kaye Lynn (Kevin) Ogden (Centerville, UT), Janet (Mark) Short (Woods Cross, UT), Jeff (Sandie) Gale (Preston, ID), Linda (Tadd) Anderson (Stansbury, UT), 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
