Antonette Toni van Bezooyen Uffens passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006 incident to breast cancer. She was born to Antone and Antonette Risse van Bezooyen April 14, 1915 in Salt Lake City. Toni married Herman J. Uffens on November 15, 1935. Toni and Herman had their marriage sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1963. In 1979 they served an 18-month proselyting mission in the Netherlands, the place of their parents birth. Upon returning from their mission they served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake temple for 10 years. Toni was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and served for many years as ward organist in the LDS church. She loved her association with her friends, bridge groups, family and with her co-workers at Zion?s bank. Toni moved from her home on Center Street in Bountiful into Heritage Place Retirement Home in 2004. Due to failing health, she moved four months ago into the Charleston Assisted Living Home near her granddaughter Andrea Doug and great-grandchildren in Cedar Hills, Utah. She is survived by her two sons, Ron Uffens and Dr. David Marilyn Wrigley Uffens of Redmond, WA; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bountiful 31st Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street, where friends and family may call from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m prior to services. Interment-Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. We will be forever grateful to those who served her so well in her ward, the Heritage Place, the Charleston, and especially Comfort Care Hospice during her times of need. In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to the LDS missionary fund.
