Arlen Scadlock

November 21, 1931 — January 8, 2012

Our loving husband, father and grandfather Arlen J Scadlock passed away from this earthly existence on Sunday, January 8th, 2012 into the arms of his mother who died when he was two, his father and his seven brothers and sisters. What a joyous reunion that must have been! Arlen was born in South Gate, California on November 21st, 1931 to William Joseph and Genevive Cluff Scadlock, the seventh of eight children. After graduating from South Gate high school he served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was proud to be a Korean War Veteran. Dad married the love of his life Judy Carsey on June 22, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they were blessed with five children, Wayne, Kally, Kent, Rick and Terry. Arlen received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah and his Masters Degree from Brigham Young University. He loved his red but really loved his blue! Arlen spent his working career as a Social Worker for LDS Social Services. He enjoyed his work with the Indian Student Placement Program and had a special love for working with adoptive families. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved without condition. He taught us through example the true meaning of Christ like love. He is survived by his loving wife Judy. His five children Wayne (Brenda), Kally (Mark) Heslop, Kent, Rick (Jeff Davies), Terry (Nicole), seventeen adoring grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his half brother Dan Scadlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters. We will miss his blue eyes, his contagious smile and his warm embrace.
