Arline Drommond Draper

April 22, 1946 — October 13, 2021

Arline was born April 22, 1946 to goodly parents Hugh Cameron Drommond and Donna Marie Nielsen in Salt Lake City, Utah. Arline was blessed with two beautiful sisters, Nadine (Michael Lynn) McKee and Debra (David Snell) Cartwright, and a beloved brother, David Edward (Marjorie Low) Drommond. In this household, where she was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Arline was taught love, hard work, and service. She loved her siblings with all her heart. Growing up in Riverton, Utah, Arline spent her childhood with the greatest of friends: Lynette Bridges Brinkerhoff and Tava Lee Seal Nokes. She would often tell stories of being a Minorette at Bingham High School as well as playing clarinet in the band. In 1965, Arline headed to California for a summer job, but ended up meeting the love of her life instead. Richard Alan Draper and Arline married on June 24, 1966 in Whitter, California. Their marriage was filled with love and laughter until his death on January 28, 2002. While in the La Habra First Ward, in California, she was the Young Women president and loved those girls fiercely. She WAS one of the girls… singing along to all the modern music but with the wrong lyrics. All the girls remember the time at the beach and what happens when you make Arline laugh too hard! It was Arline’s dream to make Temple Covenants and was able to do so in 1990 at the South Jordan Temple. It was one of the most cherished moments of her life. After 8 years of marriage and no children, a girl was finally born, their only child, Christa Danielle (Scott Judd) Shakespeare. Arline was blessed with four amazing grandchildren: Alexa Danielle-Scott (17), Kamrynn Marie-Scott (14), Bridger Ace-Scott (14), and Tristan Paige-Scott (13). Arline made cookies with her grandkids, watched them put on talent shows (with much applause), and enjoyed every second with them. Such unconditional love was never heaped on 4 kids as much as these. And the love was definitely returned. In 2011, Arline moved to Little Elm, Texas to be closer to her grandchildren. It is there that she passed away on October 13, 2021 leaving broken hearts and lots of tears. In grief, there is also gratitude for her life, and the heavenly reunions with parents, husband, brother-in-law (David Cartwright) scores of cousins, and dear friends. She leaves behind her daughter, son-in-law whom she adored, and beloved grandchildren, as well as: sisters, a brother-in-in law that was more like brother, her actual brother, and a sister-in-law, also more like a sister. She also leaves her nieces and nephews whom she was so proud of and made her so happy, cousins and a myriad of friends across states. “UEUEUE” to all her loved ones!
