Our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, Arnold W Bradshaw, 96, of Kaysville, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2014. He was born November 1, 1918 to William and Hazel Fisher Bradshaw in Burley, Idaho.
Arnold married Delpha Pratt of Firth, Idaho on November 10, l940. He graduated from Burley High School and Stevens-Henagar Business College in Salt Lake City. Arnold served in the Pacific Theater as a lieutenant during the WWII. He received multiple injuries and consequently spent many months in the Bushnell General Hospital in Brigham City before he was released in l946.
After the war, Arnold worked for Western General Agency, an insurance firm in SLC, where he served as general manager over insurance and investments until he was in his mid 70s. He was also active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars association and was a member of Oakridge Country Club. Delpha passed away in 1993 after suffering many long years with Alzheimer’s disease. Arnold lovingly took care of Delpha in their Bountiful home until she passed.
Arnold married Melva Phillips Handy on April 18, 1994. They have traveled extensively and enjoyed many family memories with their children and grandchildren. Arnold served his country with great courage and dignity. As a husband and father he was a wonderful example of hard work, honesty and dedication. He was always kind and accommodating to everyone. He was a perfect gentleman, constantly cheerful and a good friend to many. He will be sorely missed by his family.
Arnold is survived by his sweetheart, Melva and his son, Frank Bruce of Firth, Idaho and Bruce’s children and grandchildren, as well as Ted’s wife, Marcy Welling of Bountiful and their children and grandchildren; Mel’s children, Steve Handy of Dallas Texas, Monte Handy (Ardelle) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kent Handy (deceased). He was preceded in death by his wife, Delpha; his son, Ted; his daughter-in-law, Sandra; his brother, Glen (Junior); and his sister, Marjorie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment -Bountiful City Cemetery.
