Artie Henderson

Biography

Artie Junior Henderson (age 86) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 22, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born May 17, 1928 in a service station in Dayton, Idaho to Artie Harmon Henderson and Leatha Gleed. He married Carol May Woolsey in 1945. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple.
Artie was a man of many talents and worked in both sales and management, finally retiring as the Manager of the LDS Pasta Factory. He loved working in fine carpentry, decorative wrought iron and had a gifted mechanical mind. Everywhere he lived, from Logan to Granger to Bountiful, his family and friends benefitted greatly from his willingness and ability to fix virtually anything. If you had car trouble he would say, “Let me give the engine a listen”. If you had plumbing problems, you would soon see his feet sticking out from below your sink. At eighty years of age he had to finally be banned from roofing projects!
Artie was an active member of the LDS Church, filling a variety of callings as well as
serving as a Temple Worker in the Bountiful and Jordan River Temples.
He is survived, and will be greatly missed by his wife Carol, his children Myrna (Gareth) Conder, Mark (Cindy) Henderson and Matt (Lori) Henderson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Diana (Stephen) Miller. Artie and Carol have twenty-four Grandchildren, forty-nine Great Grandchildren, and sixteen Great-Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel, 585 E. Center, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may visit Saturday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church, or Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Interment will be at the Logan Cemetery.
