How this spring of love resembles
Glory of the sun and April day.
By and by a cloud appears
Taketh all away
Ashley Marie Meldrum, 19, daughter and sister so sweet, passed away Nov. 15, 2013 from complications due to type 1 Diabetes. Ashley was born on her fathers birthday, April 9th, 1994. She is always the proud daughter of Alan L. Meldrum and Marian J. Meldrum of Bountiful, Utah.
During her short life she accomplished much through trials, physical pain, disease and adversity. Through it all she was able to give the gifts of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance and unconditional love. She never complained or said an unkind or negative word towards another.
She grew up with a love for the outdoors, animals, music and baseball. When her diseases took hold, she was an excellent student in high school, and wanted to study to become a doctor. She earned a CNA degree when she was 15. She took many advanced classes in the Medical Sciences and received college credit. She loved music and played the sax, flute, drums and guitar. She received her high school diploma, a huge accomplishment few can understand, considering her illnesses. At every turn her road was filled with obstacles.
Through her struggles she tried valiantly to endure and found comfort with her favorite pets, her family of dogs, Charlie, Oz, Payton, Candy and Lady. Towards the end she enjoyed rock climbing, hiking and outdoor photography. She had a special relationship with her grandfather who passed 3 years earlier, and loved to rock climb at Camp Hale, Colorado where he trained to fight WW II. She was planning to hike the 14,000 foot Mt. of the Holy Cross nearby in Colorado, next summer. She was also planning a trip in the summer of 2015 to Italy, to see where her Grandfather fought. We are comforted to know that he was waiting for her and accompanied her when she passed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 21 St at 11:00 a.m., at the North Canyon Fifth Ward, 2505 South Davis Blvd, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
Ashley would want everyone to love one another, and never judge another. I Love you my dear ones, my true friends; forever and through eternity.
