Ava Beverly Butters born March 30, 1930 to Erma Jane Gilbert in Ogden, Utah, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017. Early in Mom’s life she lost her mother at the age of 12 years old, and was lovingly adopted by her Aunt Ann and Uncle Ernest King. She moved to Green River, Wyoming where she met her high school sweetheart Hal R. Butters. They married April 15, 1950. Mom was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and loved her sorority sisters very much. During her life, Mom enjoyed volunteering in the Bountiful, Utah area. Mom enjoyed cooking, and later in life, and doing ceramics with friends and relatives. She had her buddies, “The Goldens”, whom she looked forward to seeing and spending time with. She was preceded in death by her husband Hal. Together they had three children, Debbie (Dave) Layman, Dana (Mark) Newman, and Todd Butters, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Special thanks go to the staff of Pheasant View Assisted Living, and Hospice.
At Mom’s request, a private service was held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 to honor her life.
