Avalon slipped quietly away at the home of her daughter after a valiant battle with cancer. She passed in the loving arms of her family. Now she is back in the arms of her loving husband, Sam. They were married 42 years before his passing.
She is survived by her 3 children: Daphne (Gary) Crane, Sam Waterfield and Bryan Waterfield; her 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by 5 siblings and 3 sisters-in-law. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam D. Waterfield; her parents Norman and Opal; in-laws, Sam & Eugenia; and sister-in-law, Lomay.
She worked for many years in accounting at CR Englands and Mack Truck. Graduated from cosmetology school and opened her own shop. Our dear mother was known for her huge heart and willingness to go above and beyond for her family and loved ones. She truly had a heart of gold.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Woods Cross 2nd Ward for their support and services. Also the hospice and nurses for their daily love and caring in her final days.
