Barbara Ann Tracy

July 21, 1928 — April 23, 2016

Barbara Ann Gibson Tracy,(87) a long-time resident of the Salt Lake City area, died Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 at Holladay Health Care, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born in 1928 in Alamosa, Colorado, to Clifford G. Gibson and Birdie Ann Wilson, Barbara was the fifth of 10 children. 
In 1941, the family moved to Utah, where her father worked in an ammunition factory during World War II. Later, her father worked as a journeyman Electrician.
Barbara graduated from West High School in 1946.  She married Donald Orin Tracy in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1947.  They had three children: Janice Ann, Donald Orin, and Cheryl. 
Barbara was known for her sweet, kind disposition, determination, honesty, and verve.
She is survived by: her daughter, Cheryl Tracy, her brothers Wallace E. Gibson, David L. Gibson and his wife Connie, Ronald W. Gibson and his wife Karen, and her sister Edith V. Bell and her sister-in-law Cheri Gibson. Also, by grandchildren Michelle, Douglas, David (Randee), Daniel (Melissa), Darren (Adrienne) and great grandchildren Hayden, Jack, Michael, Tyler, Nate, Tracy, Emily, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Norma Barton and LaVina Joyce Gunnell, her brothers Clifford D. Gibson, Marvin Gibson and Russell H. Gibson and her two children, Donald and Janice Ann. 
Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 12:00 Noon, at Valley View Memorial Park, 4100 South 4400 West, West Valley City, Utah. 
We would like to thank her doctors, caregivers at Holladay Care Center and Canyon Hospice.
