Barbara Franks Nelson

Barbara Jean Franks Nelson was born December 19, 1928 to John E. and Therma Franks of Oakley Idaho, and passed away peacefully on May 5, 2011 in Layton, Utah. Barbara graduated from Oakley High School and married James F. Walker Nelson December 31, 1952 and together they raised their family in the Oakley valley. After their children were all in school, Barbara attended nursing school and spent most of her nursing career working as an emergency room nurse at Cassia Memorial Hospital. She is a return missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served in the Alabama Birmingham Mission. She continues to be a faithful and obedient daughter, having felt the loving arms of our Savior throughout her life. When asked to describe the best day of her life, she answered without hesitation, the day she received her temple endowment. She is survived by six children, 19 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the Oakley Idaho Stake Center at 12:00 noon and friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
