Wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed peacefully surrounded by family. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clarence Norman Pearson and Signe Nilsson Pearson, proud Swedes all. She grew up in Kearns, Utah and graduated from Cyprus High School.
Barbara fulfilled a mission to Canada and considered herself an adopted Canadian. She loved the people of Canada, as she loved her own family.
After her mission, she worked for Gledhill Dodge and while there met Hal Julander. They married March 24, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Barbara had a strong testimony of the gospel and served in many capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from sunbeam teacher to stake primary president and loved every minute of her service. She loved the Lord as much as she loved her family.
You could often find Barbara and Hal in the southern Utah desert, rockhounding, searching for petrified wood and stocking up on moqui marbles to hand out to students when they would give “rock talks” at the local elementary. Hal and Barb also loved gardening and canning what they picked from their garden. Pumpkin time was a favorite of the grandchildren, but so were the fresh tomatoes, corn, and peppers. Barbara also loved to sew. She made quilts for all her grandkids and in her younger days made clothes for her kids!
Another favorite time was Christmas. She loved to host and cook for her annual neighborhood Christmas open house. She invited everybody, because she loved everybody! Barbara and Hal were always having a party, hosting a family BBQ, or getting together with friends for lunch, even if that meant a trip to Arizona for Navajo tacos! One of the most organized people on the planet, Barbara had a place for everything and everything was in its place. It made life easy growing up.
