Bea Marsden

August 22, 1937 — August 7, 2014

Lilian Beatrice Ditty Marsden passed away August 7, 2014 in West Bountiful, UT. Born August 22, 1937 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Joseph and Lilian Mullen Ditty. Married Alan Marsden on July 9, 1956. On September 10, 1958 they were one of the first families to be sealed for time and all eternity in the London England Temple, the day after it was dedicated.
Bea and Alan immigrated to the United States with their three eldest children in 1962. They made their home in West Bountiful, UT.
Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and magnified every calling which she received. Mom also served for several years as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple. Worked as a telephone operater in Ireland and in food services at the Davis School District. Later was employed by the LDS Church as the Chief Telephone Operator, retiring in 1996. Mom then served with dad in the England, Birmingham Mission from Oct. 1996 to April 1998.
One of mom’s greatest joys came from serving her family. She was loved by everyone and loved even more in return. She loved crosswords, knitting, creating quilts for many friends and family, and loved vacationing at t’ocean with her family. Mom was “an example of the believers”
(1 Tim. 4:12) .
Bea is survived by her husband Alan, West Bountiful; her children: Lesley (Michael) Leger, Archie (JuLee), Timothy (Margie), Alan (Marivic), Lilian (Cory) Nielsen, David (Christine), and her brothers: Joseph M. Ditty and Bryan M. Ditty. Bea is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and two of her grandchildren, Christopher and Ashleigh.
