Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend Becki Buchanan returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on June 14th, at the age of 66, after succumbing to medical complications.
Becki was the youngest daughter of Harold and Lillian Elmer, born on March 9th, 1958. As a young women Becki took up a career as a secretary for the Continental Bank and Trust Company and later worked for Security National Life. It was at her job with Continental Bank and Trust Company that she met her husband of 41 years Paul Buchanan.
Paul and Becki were married at the McCune Mansion in Salt Lake City October 13th, 1982. They were later sealed together for time and all eternity in the South Jordan Temple on August 29th, 1986. Becki and Paul were blessed with one son Shayne Buchanan. Becki was a dedicated mother to Shayne. She spent many years working as a volunteer at Shayne’s school (Jenny P. Stuart Elementary) helping children learn to read. She delighted in seeing her son’s many life accomplishments. One of those was seeing him graduate with his master’s degree in sports exercise and performance psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. Becki also enjoyed traveling.
She loved going on family vacations with her sister Dixie, their husbands, and children. Some of her favorite destinations included Aruba, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Zihuantanejo Mexico.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Becki was called to serve in several capacities. One of her most cherished callings was the opportunity to work with the young members of the congregation as a teacher in the primary program.
Becki’s love extended to the K9 world as well. She has spent many of her recent years as a devoted snuggler of her dogs Sasha and Sadie.Becki leaves behind her husband: Paul Buchanan- Centerville, UT.: her son Shayne Buchanan Green Bay, WI.: her sister Dixie (Dave) Crary – West Haven, UT.: and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death By both her parents Harold and Lillian Elmer and her brother Dan Elmer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 21st, 2024 at the Centerville Chase LaneWard house, 1125 N. 400 W. Centerville, UT 84014, where friends and family are invited to attend a viewing held prior to the funeral services from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. Interment will be held at Farmington City Cemetery.
