Ben Crabtree

November 22, 2001 — July 16, 2022

Ben Crabtree returned to his Heavenly Home at age 20 on July 16, 2022, in Clearfield, Utah. Ben was born November 22, 2001 in Chandler, Arizona to Heath and Hanna Crabtree.

Ben had a special way of naturally lighting up a room.  His smile and laugh were absolutely infectious and he always knew how to cheer you up.  Ben was a very passionate individual.  His passions and interests included several things like motorcycles, muscle cars, classic cars, music of all sorts, baseball, football, bitcoin, video games, snowboarding, mountain biking, skateboarding, scooters, friendship, loyalty, and most of all…family.  He had the ability to love like no other could. His loyalty to friends and family was what he absolutely lived for. Ben enjoyed late night rides to nowhere and back with friends, and he could figure out a way to wiggle out of any tight spot. Ben was always optimistic and could lift anyone up when they were down and trodden. He was known for creating his own words and he always had a plan. Ben always aimed to please and had compassion for those that were less fortunate. He was extremely generous and was known to actually give the shirt off his own back multiple times. Ben was a tough kid. He could endure an insurmountable of pain and affliction without shedding a tear. He was fearless and spontaneous. Ben showed much respect for our country. He was very grateful to live in the land of the free and was humbly indebted to the soldiers that fought for his freedom. He enjoyed doing “The Murph” with his dad each Memorial Day to commemorate his respect for the fallen soldiers that sacrificed so much for his liberty and freedom. He displayed an infinite amount of love for his friends and family; and would do anything possible to lift their spirits. He loved watching movies…his favorites were American Sniper; Lone Survivor; ALL of The Fast and the Furious movies; Tombstone; Nacho Libre; Dodgeball; Good Will Hunting; and It’s a Wonderful Life.  Ben was a tough, fearless kid and broke several bones in his body without shedding a tear. He always appreciated and savored a big juicy steak.  He loved and appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and made countless efforts to enjoy a peaceful sunset.  His favorite book to read was The Outsiders.

Ben was extremely intelligent and was an early graduate from High School early. He displayed a tremendous amount of leadership.  While he was in junior high and high school, Ben was the Secretary of the Junior National Honors Society; Vice President of the high school Ski Club; he was on the Activities Committee; and Vice President of the Fitness Club.  He created and taught team building skills and used great stratagem to maneuver his way out of any tight spot. His 7th grade pop-warner football team took the championship as he played Nose Guard.  He sacked the quarterback multiple times and made sure they stayed on the ground after the tackle. He could hold off 2 linemen on his own and the team called him “The Enforcer”.  He studied Outdoor Recreation at Central Wyoming University for a Semester, missed friends of family too much, and returned back home to pursue adventures and developed a great deal of street smarts in the years that followed college.

Ben is survived by Richard Heath Crabtree and Hanna Crabtree (parents), Michael Crabtree (brother), Sarah Crabtree (sister), Abigail Crabtree, (sister), JoCee Fairchild (fiancé), Susan J. Westercamp (grandmother), Rick J. Crabtree (grandfather), 5 aunts, 5 uncles, and 10 cousins.  He was preceded in death by Kenneth Lee Westercamp (grandfather) and Judy Lee Crabtree (grandmother).
