Our dad, Ben Lindsay, passed away Wednesday morning March 11, 2015. He rode off into a beautiful sunrise on his favorite horse to reunite with our mom, the love of his life.
Ben was born on December 10, 1927 in Heber City, Utah to Bennett and Sarah Sweat Lindsay. He and his twin brother, Bob, rounded out a family of 11 children including 3 sets of twins. All proceeded him in death.
Ben and Kathleen Kohler were married in the Salt Lake Temple August 2, 1950. Their lives were blessed with 6 children: David (Laurel), Janese Yoho (Jack), Karen, Lewis (Sally), Roger (Julie), Stuart, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Dad graduated from Utah State University with a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics. He was recognized as an advocate for farmers and ranchers and was well respected by local and national groups. Dad and Mom traveled to the 4 corners of the earth for work and pleasure. They made friends everywhere they went. Dad had an amazing ability to remember names and faces.
Ben enjoyed a lifetime of service filling many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including missionary, and Bishop.
His greatest devotion was to his wife and family. He did everything in his power to help people succeed. He found great joy in hearing of their success.
The family would like to thank Legacy House staff and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care.
