Berlinda Marie Prettyman was born 2/11/1937 in Grand Junction, CO. Passed away on 12/23/2014 after a long courageous battle with Dementia and Alzheimers. Married the love of her life on 9/25/1964. They had just celebrated 50 wonderful years together.
Berlinda was a devoted, loving, caring mother to her four children. She also held many callings for the LDS church, especially in the scouting program where she helped many young men become even better people. She served in scouting for most of her adult life. She put all of her energy into her family and callings. When her children where finally leaving the nest, she took on her next adventure in life working at Matheson Head Start and Northwest Middle School where again she helped shape the lives of many children and made a lot of friends.
Berlinda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry E. Hawkins. Her four children: Linda (William Wood), Larry Jr. (Barbara), Janet (Tyrone Farillas) and Michael (Cindy); 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Siblings: twin sister Orlinda, Rupert (Kathy), Betty (Jon Tolman), Terry (Sherrie). Preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Linda Prettyman.
The family would like to thank Silverado Hospice and the many kind and loving friends and family that helped so much during this difficult and trying time.
