Darwin Roberts 85, passed away at the home of his daughter Kimberly Johnson in Layton, UT. He is a beloved Father and Papa. He leaves behind 4 children: David (Karen), Kimberly Johnson (Tyler), Margaret Folsom (Todd), and Tony (Kele); 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was born to Lollie Mae Gunter and Bernice Carol Roberts and raised in Athens, GA in the small village of Whitehall. He was the oldest of 5 children; siblings Billy, Shirley Couch, Buren and Dean. He served his country proudly in the Army and Air Force. He is a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Darwin retired after 22 years of active duty from the Air Force. After retirement he worked at Portland General Electric in Oregon then returned to his roots and worked at the University of Georgia.
Time with his family was his greatest joy. He loved music, dancing, watching sports, and golfing. He was always up for a new adventure. He lived a life of hard work and serving others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Roberts, and 3 grandsons. His kind spirit and joyful heart is a great legacy he leaves for his family. He was his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s favorite playmate.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00am with a viewing from 9:45 until 10:45am at the Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 1941 North Main, Farmington, UT 84025. Interment will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
