Bernice Katherine Stones Larsen was reunited with the Love of Her Life, Glen M. Larsen, on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Born February 4, 1914 to Benjamin J. and Minnie Staley Stones in Coalville, Utah. She was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School where she met Glen. They married on February 1, 1935 and were sealed in for Time and All Eternity on February 1, 1991. Bernice resided at the Beehive Home in Roy, Utah at the time of her death. While Glen was in the Service, Bernice drove a Staff car for the Army; traveling from Brigham City to Dugway. She was an active member of the Veterans? of Foreign Wars Atomic Post Auxiliary and operated a 16MM motion picture projector for the bedridden veterans at the Veterans Hospital once a week for six years. As a volunteer worker for the Multiple Sclerosis Society for nine years, Bernice visited ten patients once a month and served on the Board of Directors of the M.S. Society. She was well recognized in local fund drives often acting as block captain for collections for the United Fund organization and other charities that were not members of the United Fund. ?Bernie?, as she was known by fellow employees at Dun and Bradstreet, worked the PBX switch board. She made many friends while working there, most who only knew her through phone conversations, birthday cards, get well cards, retirement cards and Christmas cards. A loyal employee for Dun and Bradstreet for 37 years, she retired in 1984. As an active member in the local chapter of the International PBX Club, she held most elected and many appointed positions in the club during the many years she was a member. In addition to her association positions in the club during the many years she was a member of the American Business Women?s Association. Bernice and Glen loved to hunt, fish, ski, travel and garden together. Many sweepstakes and First Place ribbons were won for their tuberous begonias. One of her prize possessions was her ?Devil?s Tongue? plant. Several newspaper articles were written on these fascinating plants. Her talents in crochet, embroidery and tatting created beautiful handwork she loved to share. Bernice and Glen raised several miniature dogs; Mitzie, Ming Toy, Cherri Marie, Heidi, Suzzette and several more were their ?kids?, and each one was treated and loved as if they were their children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her parents; three brothers, Clem, Carl, John and a baby that died with her mother. Bernice is survived by many loving cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. She will be missed. The family would like to thank her dear friends and neighbors for their many years of compassionate services. We would also like to thank the loving and caring staff at the Beehive Home, CNS Hospice, Dr. Zachary Campbell and staff. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, Ut., 295 North Main where family and friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
