Bessie Harmon Jewett Richardson

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and the last of her brothers and sisters, passed away January 24, 2018, in Bountiful, Utah. Born January 27, 1924 in Price, Utah. She was the youngest daughter of Melvin Thomas and Sarah Ellen Horsley Harmon. She attended school in Price and the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked at the Continental Bank for many years. Married Kenneth Harold Jewett, February 15, 1946 in Salt Lake City. They lived in Elkins, New Hampshire and returned to Salt Lake City in 1949. In 1955, they moved to their new home in Bountiful where she continued to live for 59 years. Kenneth died in 1978. In 1984, she married Leonard “Rich” Richardson. He died in 2006.
At Christmas time, she would make different kinds of candy and cookies and give them away to friends and family. She loved to make quilts, which she gave to her family and made many more for others. She also loved to bake cookies and breads and give them to her family.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin Guy (Toni Ann) and Harold Roy (Julie Ann); grandchildren: James Kirk (Lacie Jo), Kenneth Guy (Valerie), and Nicole (Don) Jordan; and great-grandchildren: Megan, Molly, Macey, Colby, Aubrey, Rebecca, Gaven and Hailey.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Bountiful City Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Wednesday morning 11:30 am – 12:30 pm prior to services.
