Beth Howe

Beth Mitchell Howe 1919 2011 Beth Mitchell Howe, age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on May 8th, 2011, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born March 5, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Walter Edward and Sarah Larsen Mitchell. She married Floy Ralph Howe on Oct. 9, 1941, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Beth graduated from South High School. She was a lifelong active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous positions, including a Genealogical Library Church Service Mission with her husband. She was an accomplished artist and painted many wonderful oil and watercolor landscapes. She loved to work in her garden and took pride in her beautiful roses, often giving them to family and friends. She worked at Castletons Clothing Store in Foothill Village for 20 years. She enjoyed her time at the family cabin in Midway, Utah, loved to go on trips, and spend time with friends. Beth is survived by her three daughters Sandra (Steve) Lambourne, Lynda (David) Harbertson, and Wendy (Gary) Graham; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and her 3 brothers, Richard J., Walter E., and Stephen H. Mitchell. Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Floy R. Howe; brother, Robert W. Mitchell; and sisters, Helen M. Moser, and Grace M. Wiser Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 12:00 noon at the Sandy Crescent Stake Center, 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, and Wednesday, May 18, from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Stake Center.
