Betty Ann Fraser

Betty Ann Kaiser Fraser, 76, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed quietly from this life on Friday, July 13, 2012 into the loving arms of her husband of 57 years Ray Fraser.
Betty Ann was born July 31, 1935 to Carl (Johnny) Edwin Kaiser and Carrie Fae (Delong) in the small town of Breckenridge, CO. She was the eldest of two. The happy little family lived in Breckenridge until 1952 when they moved to Denver. She Graduated from Westminster High School in May of 1953. In June of 1954, she married her true love and best friend Ray Fraser of Sugarloaf Mountain. In 1955, she gave birth to their first child Carl Raymond, in 1956, Melanie Ann, in 1957, Craig, and in 1959, Stephanie. Because of Ray’s work in the drilling industry, Betty moved her family all about the United States before settling in Idaho Springs, Colorado in the early 60’s. Betty, along with her dear friend Beverly Agnew (St. John) opened “B & B Florist” in January of 1966. They built their business together until, once again, the family moved to Arvada, CO in 1968; then onto Montana and Washington. In 1974 settled in Woods Cross, UT after moving nearly 27 times.
She was the manager of the “Albertsons Snack Bar” at the 5 Points Mall until the snack bar closed, at which time she worked at the Albertsons Distribution Center in the Accounts Payable Department. After retiring, Betty spent her days taking care of children. Being around children and little babies brought her the most joy in life and she was a special “Grammy” to many. After recovering from two strokes and breast cancer; Betty worked hard at recovering, and was able to travel extensively with Ray. They took many trips with family and longtime friends across the fifty states and twice to Alaska. They made a yearly trip to the Cowboy Poetry Contest in Elko and Heber with Everett and Shirley Coleman (Boulder, CO). She always loved to go—by motorhome, 4-wheeler, or boat. If it was moving she wanted in it.
Betty enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, beading, painting; pretty much any kind of craft. She always did meticulous work and had an incredible eye for detail. She was a member of the Bountiful Lady of Elks, where she enjoyed doing many kinds of charity work and looked forward to the Christmas luncheon each year. Above all, Betty took great pride in any place she called home and always had her family in the front of her mind. Her granddaughters where her biggest delight—May they never forget how very much she loved them. Betty wore many hats and was an incredibly talented and loving individual. Her beautiful smile, laughing blue eyes, and sassy spirit will create a great void in this world and will very much be missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, sister Roxie, children Carl, Melanie, and Craig. She is survived by her adoring daughter Stephanie (Randy) Smith, Granddaughters Jenna, Jaleen, and Jessi. Sisters in law Shirley (Everett) Coleman and Metta Sager, Brother in law James Knudsen and Zachary Riddle, who is a kind and gentle soul, who loved her dearly and treated her so very well as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family friends and loved ones.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM , Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held in celebration of Betty’s life at the Bountiful Elk’s Lodge, 544 West 200 North following the memorial services.
