Betty Claire Lloyd Hess Harvey

Betty Claire Lloyd Hess Harvey returned to her Heavenly Father and departed family at the age of 90 on January 13, 2017.  She was born March 24th 1926 in Plano, Idaho to Jesse and Ilene Griffiths Lloyd.  She was the 6th of 8 children.  Her early childhood memories on the farm with her family and loving brothers and sister were treasured times.  Betty married W. Gene Hess, her high school sweetheart and was blessed with 4 children, Dennis Gene, Richard Clyde, Suzanne and Sandra Ilene who were sealed as a family November 20th 1953 in the Idaho Falls temple.  Gene and Betty raised their family in Shelley and Idaho Falls Idaho.  Gene and Betty worked in the successful family coal business Clyde Hess and Son Coal.  Later they moved to Jackson Lake Lodge where Gene was employed. They also lived in Spanish Fork where Gene passed away.  Betty moved to Springville where she lived for 28 years and married Joe Harvey.  Joe and Betty had a wonderful life together.  After Joe's death Betty moved to Heritage Place in Bountiful, UT where she was a light unto everyone.  Betty always had a sunny disposition and showed love to all.  She was a joy to be around and will be deeply missed.  Betty’s family would like to thank Dona Lloyd, Delores Burnham, and countless friends and the staff at heritage place for the love and care they have shown her. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, four children, 2 Grand Children, and 2 Great Grand Children, and her parents and siblings.  Betty is survived by 2 daughters in law, 10 Grand Children, 29 Great Grand Children and 3 Great Great Grand Children and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful South Stake Center 1250 South Main Street in Bountiful, UT Tuesday January 17th at 12 noon, viewing at 11am.
