Betty Jeanne Buckwell Himstreet

October 20, 1928 — April 3, 2016

Betty was born in SLC, Utah on October 20, 1928 to Helen & A. E. Buckwell.
After a valiant fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme, Betty passed away on April 3, 2016. Betty was loved by many. She raised, nurtured, guided, and encouraged her own four children and countless others. No one that Betty knew who was in need of a kind and loving home was turned away. She was selfless; others always came before Betty until the very end. Many times the first words out of her mouth were "how can I help" or "what do you need me to do?" She was known for her sense of humor and positive outlook on life no matter what hand she was dealt. She guided with a strong hand and and a warm heart while she shared her insights to life's lessons. She loved being outdoors; hiking and skiing were second nature to her. She lived for her family, loved children, swam religiously, knit for those she loved, played bridge with a passion, and, according to her grandchildren cheated at checkers. There was never a more grand teacher. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and A.E. Buckwell, her sisters Grace, Rita, and Carolyn, and her two son's Greg and Bill Himstreet. She is survived by her brother Bill (Carolyn) Buckwell, her children Doug and Celestia Himstreet, Becky and Steve Rockwood and her grandchildren John (Emily) and Chris (Natalie) Himstreet, Tanner Brunsdale (Wes Tafoya), Danielle (Tuna Yucel) and Jeff Rockwood, Corbin, Colton, and Caed Himstreet, her great granddaughter Sophia Yucel, her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Sincere appreciation to IHC Home Care & Hospice.
