Betty Joye Fox Bowers

Betty Joye Fox Bowers passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at her home in Salt Lake City. Betty Joye was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1941 and raised her family in Bountiful, Utah.

She was an executive secretary at Syro Steel/Trinity Industries and retired after 44 years. Because of her infectiously happy voice and love of people, she made friends all over the world just by speaking with them over the phone. One coworker called her ”the heart of Syro Steel.”

Betty Joye was an eternal optimist who loved spending time with friends and family, picnics up the canyon, gardening, flipping through her magazines, and spending time in the red rock areas of Southern Utah. 

Betty Joye is survived by her husband Dennis, who still adores his bride after 64 years of marriage, her children Joye Downey (Peter Wilensky) and Dina (Chris) Cowen, her three grandchildren Brandon Downey, Nicholas Cowen and Katelyn Cowen, her sister Joan Teasdale, and numerous other relatives and friends.
