Beloved eternal companion and mother, Beverly Dean (Maughan) Moore returned to her heavenly home on January 30, 2021 from causes incident to age. She passed peacefully and quietly surrounded by family.

It is impossible to imagine a more loyal, loving and supportive companion.
Beverly was born in Hyrum, Utah on August 17, 1927, the oldest daughter of Alton Parkinson Maughan and Edith Chloe Hall. She was proud of her pioneer heritage.

She was a devoted and cherished daughter, sister, and mother. She attended Salt Lake City schools, graduating from South High School in 1944. In her youth she was proficient in academics, nursing, languages, and acting.

Beverly and Val C Moore were married June 14, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple had nine children and fifty grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Val died in 2005 at the age of 77.

During World War II, she joined the Cadet Nurse Corps (she said she like how she looked in the uniform.) In the first few years of her marriage before their children arrived, she worked as a nurse for a local doctor in Salt Lake.

She had great pride in the accomplishments of her family, her work in life included providing support and companionship to her beloved husband and to shower her love on the family she cherished.

She was the matriarch of the family. Through hard work and love she created her legacy. She was very proud that all of her children had college degrees, married in the LDS temple, and are active in the LDS church. All six boys attained the rank of Eagle in Boy Scouts, and seven children served as full-time missionaries for the church.

As member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints; served in the Scouting program, Sunday School, Primary and Genealogy Teacher, Missionary in History Extraction for 12 years, Full-time missionary in New Zealand, Lifetime member and chapter president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She was an avid genealogist, gardener, seamstress and traveler.

Beverly developed many cherished friendships and loved to share. An extrovert who loved everyone. Opened here home and heart to people from all over the world. Her love extended to families from all corners of the world.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the exceptional service and compassionate care extended to Beverly for the past years of diminished health and strength. We are thankful for family members and dear friends in the Mount Olympus 5th Ward for their support and love. Beverly’s deep love for them has remained constant through long years of association. Mom frequently recognized her gratitude for the friends, family and neighbors.
