Beverly Welch

Beverly Floyd Welch, surrounded by loved ones, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father after a long and valiantly fought battle with leukemia, and a life that epitomized joy and optimism. She leaves behind a legacy of service and love. Unforgettable are her beautiful smile and the twinkle of her eyes as she brought happiness to all with whom she came in contact.
Beverly was born on July 12, 1938 in Logan, Utah to J. Whitney and Virginia Floyd. Raised in Providence, she graduated South Cache High School. She met her future husband, David N. Welch while attending Utah State University. She graduated in 1959 with a degree in education and married Dave the same year. Her teaching career began as principal teacher at the Cache Training Center, a special education school. After Dave’s service in Korea, they moved to Fort Huachuca, AZ where she taught school on base. Her teaching career spanned over 30 years, primarily in Davis County schools as a resource teacher. She earned a master’s in Educational Administration from BYU and influenced many with her talents and wisdom. She was a licensed real estate agent and enjoyed working with her husband.
Beverly and Dave raised their four children in Bountiful. She encouraged each to live life to the fullest, without fear, and with happiness and a sense of humor. Her sparkling wit was with her to the end.
She enjoyed serving in many capacities. She held many callings in her church and served as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful LDS temple for 9 years. In 2007 she served a 2 year mission with her eternal companion in Harlow, England where they touched many lives and made many close friends.
Beverly is survived by her husband and children: Jim (Annette) Welch, Lori Wilson, Kris (Brett) Wilcox and Julie (Steve) Stuehser, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her brother, L.J. Floyd, and leaves behind her sister Diane (Dee) Call, brother Darrel (Karen) Floyd, and sister-in-law Ann (L.J.) Floyd.
A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, February 29th from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N Main, Bountiful. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the West Bountiful 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 311 North 800 West, West Bountiful with a viewing from 9:45 – 10:45 prior to services. Interment will be at Bountiful City cemetery.
