Beverly Diane Arthur Wilhelm passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was 67 years old.
Beverly was born on October 12, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward Eldredge Arthur and Audrey Marie Bowers Arthur, the sixth child of their eight children.
She graduated in 1975 from Highland High School.
From an early age Beverly had a marked talent for music. She studied at the University of Utah, earning a bachelor’s degree in Music. She later went on to earn her master’s degree in Vocal Performance. She touched many lives by teaching numerous students piano and voice. She taught classes at Salt Lake Community College. Her love of and engagement with music was infectious, but her greatest love was her children.
Beverly was a loving and devoted mother to three children: Laurel, Ashley, and Cameron. Beverly was extremely hard-working and never shied away from a challenge. Later in life, she put her passion for music aside to return to school and become a registered nurse to support herself and her children. She rose to the challenge. She had a unique gift for sensing the needs of her patients, and many of her colleagues appreciated her expertise and precision in her professional life.
Beverly’s unwavering faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ manifested in her actions as she was a woman of great empathy, kindness, generosity, encouragement, and compassion. Beverly’s faith made it possible for her to rise above countless challenges and still shine. She was blessed to discover that a difficult life is more enjoyable when you find the humor in it.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward B., who died in infancy, and her oldest sister Kaye with whom she had a remarkable relationship.
She is survived by her three children, Laurel Wilhelm, Ashley Wilhelm (Landon Mann), and Cameron Wilhelm (Meredith Brennan), and five of her siblings: Karen Arthur, Clayne (Suzanne) Arthur, Ronald (Lorrie Ann) Arthur, Robert Arthur, and Julie (Dennis) Olson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who love her and remember her fondly and Sherry Arthur who has also been a true and supportive friend for many years.
Beverly leaves behind a legacy of love, support, creativity, strength, and faith that will always be remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11:00 am. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1111 East Charlton Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT, 84106, where a viewing will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
