Bill Miller Byrd

Bill quietly slipped away peacefully at his home in Syracuse on May 9^th 2023. Bill was the second son of Darwin and Kathryn Byrd, born October 19, 1948, in Ogden, Utah. Bill was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. He was a member of the LDS church and worked for many years on the LDS church farm before becoming a long-haul trucker. Bill married Mary “Anne” Young on April 4, 1982 and the pair were happily married for 36 years until she preceded him in death on October 10, 2018. Bill loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He is survived by three brothers: Leslie and Paul Byrd of Layton, Utah; and Richard Byrd of Syracuse, Utah. Three sisters: Arlene Weese of Roy, Utah; Vickie Byrd of St George, Utah; and Barbara Fleming of Irrigon, Oregon. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Bill served his country in Vietnam from July 29, 1969 to October 5, 1970 in the Army Armor Division. A viewing will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11:00-12:00 at Russon Mortuary in Syracuse. Interment will follow at the Utah Veteran’s Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
