Billy Maurice Naegle, age 79 of Kaysville, Utah, passed away January 20th after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born November 11th, 1934 in Hurricane Utah, to Mac and Juanita Naegle. He is survived by his wife Carol Bauer Naegle, son Michael Naegle (Janet), daughter Jan Naegle McKay, son Kenneth Naegle (Lori), daughter Elaine Potter (Doug), 20 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by one son, Scott Naegle. Bill and Carol met in high school, and soon fell in love. After they both graduated from Cedar High School they spent a year apart while he was going to college in California, but always kept in touch via written letter. Bill married his high school sweetheart Carol Bauer on April 7th, 1956. They were soon sealed together for time and all eternity in the Los Angles Temple on August 17th, 1957. They have been married for 57 years. From that love for each other, they had three sons; Mike, Scott, Kenneth, and one daughter Elaine. These children were the joy of their lives.
Bill was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many capacities from Bishopric Councilor to Financial Clerk, though his favorite calling always was serving in the Primary. Each year, they would travel south for the winter, and would attend one of the local wards. Bill always had to visit the primary. He had a great love for children and they always felt his love in kind and would flock to him. He loved the temple and served as an Ordinance Worker in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. Bill and Carol also served a six month mission in Martins Cove. They really enjoyed the hard work and the friendships they made there. His most recent calling was to team teach the Temple Prep class with his wife Carol. They loved to work together and to see the progress of the people they taught.
He spent thirty years of his professional life working as a machinist for Unisys and then spent his later years working for the School District as a bus driver for the special needs students. But his greatest love was his family and especially the grandkids; you could always see a twinkle in his eye whenever he told a story of one of the grand kids. He was a great Husband, father, grandfather. He was the rock and hero of our family and will surely be missed. He certainly lived as those who preceded him. Viewing will be held in his honor Friday, January 24th from 5-7:30pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Farmington, followed by a viewing Saturday morning at the LDS chapel at 331 South 50 west in Kaysville from 9:30-10:30a.m prior to Funeral Services at 11:00a.m. All are invited to attend.
