Blain was born in Fairview, Utah to Willis Randal Brady and LaVera Christina Sanders. He was their 5th child. The family moved to Salt Lake City when he was 12 years old. He graduated from East High School in 1948 and the University of Utah in 1952 with a degree in business management. He achieved his CPA license in the early 1960's. He owed his own CPA firm and spent 41 years assisting clients with business matters.
He served in the Korean Conflict in the US Army Signal Corp, stationed in Alaska. Blain was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1954.
He married Carol Denise Gill on October 24, 1955, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Blain and Carol have been dedicated to each other for 62 years. They raised a family of three daughters and one son in Salt Lake City (the Cottonwood High area). They moved to Farmington, Utah in 1996.
Blain loved to ski and fish and took flying lessons in his younger years. He liked to travel, in a car. Blain and Carol have driven as far as the Florida Keys. He did not like to garden, that was Carol's job.
Blain was pre-deceased by his parents and four siblings; Wesley Randal Brady, Vera Virginia Black, Alice Pickering and Carol Mary Pedersen.
Blain is survived by his wife, Carol and his 4 children; Pamela Kay Marks (John), Leisa Marie Donovan (Gary), Michael David (June Libao) and Lynda Karyn Taylor (Scott). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Compton Bench Ward; 900 North Compton Road, Farmington, UT 84025. Friends and family may visit Friday, July 27 between 6 and 8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington; or Saturday 9:30 – 10:30 am at the church.
